I began couponing with a small accordian file. My labels: Dairy, Meat & Produce, Soup & Pasta, Baking, Bread, Breakfast, Snack, Spices/Sauces/Dressings, Toiletries, Cleaning, and Miscellaneous. Due to lack of space, some of the categories were combined, but that worked fine for me. But in the last couple months, my coupon usage has taken off, mainly because of how many stores will accept 1 manufacturer’s coupons and 1 store coupon per item. And because of that, I’ve been getting more for free! Needless to say, I ran out of space this past week in the accordian file.
I never wanted to be one of those coupon users, the ones with the binders. But I’ve had a change of heart. I have realized I care more about my freebies and saving money than I do about looking cute at Target. This handy coupon binder is the most practical resource for me. I use baseball card holder to hold the coupons. And I inserted dividers for organization. I can see which coupons I have, and how many of those coupons I have doubles or triples of – to use at Target!

I might need a notebook, too. I have a little receipt organizer that I've been using, but I still have no idea how to categorize everything for the easiest use. And I still have the receipt for the organizer so I might just return it!
I love how your coupon binder says "$5 off". Perfect!
Thanks! And I should have also said that I used baseball card holders to hold the coupons. I just started this method, but I already feel less overwhelmed, not having to find the right coupon as I block the grocery aisle!
where do you get all your target coupons? and how do i get the free friday einstein's bagel thing? i love them!
I just got a few Target coupons in the mail, but that was a first for me. And I don't know how I got on their list.
The Target site has their current ones up: http://sites.target.com/site/en/supertarget/page.jsp?title=coupons_specials
But then this site allows you to print previous coupons Target's had on their site that are not yet expired, and you can print multiples of them: http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/view.php?pg=cpngenerator
As for Free Bagel Friday, I have found them in those ads that are sometimes just stuffed in my mailbox. They don't have a name that I know of… though it would be helpful if they did. I don't have a Free Bagel Friday coupon at the moment, but I'll let you know if I find another one. Maybe they come in the paper too? I don't get that, so not sure about that one.
Hope this helps!
I think it is neat to see what works for different people. I have tried the accordian file and it just didn’t work for me. However, I tried a simple small photo album…see link below. It works perfectly for me. Same reason as the binder..I had to SEE them! I think you’re right on when you talk about finding the right resource for you. The photo album just “fits” for me. I say whatever gets you using coupons…do it! We’ll all look “dorky” together.
