Real Simples reads my mind!

Every time I come up with a brilliant idea (Of course, I think it’s brilliant; it was my idea!) and am unsure how to execute it, Real Simple publishes an article on it! Case 1: Swap Party. Case 2: Hall closet repurposed into a home office (today’s post). And both times, it is within the week of my brilliant idea that a Real Simple comes in the mail with an article on it! Amazing. Those people at Real Simple just read my mind.

Today’s idea… My husband and I just bought a 3 bedroom house in the past year. And of course, being a girl, I love to think about having kids. So the thought of bedrooms being filled is wonderful, but the thought of having toys all over the house, since there’s no room for a playroom, is a little frightening! As much as I would love to turn part of our front room into a playroom, I still need my workspace. (You all probably think I am crazy. But let it be known, I am a type A. I must plan!) So I had this brilliant idea of putting bi-fold doors (Not sliding – those are a mess – but just a top latch. We have them elsewhere, and they’re great.) on our hall closet and creating a little home office cubby! Naturally, I think this is brilliant. Hubby, on the other hand, doesn’t think so. But guess what! Real Simple does!

So cute, yes? So now you may wonder How is this a thrifty idea? Good question. As Americans we have this American Dream inside us, always longing for a bigger house. (Personally, I think we should ditch that dream because smaller houses are way cuter and cozier!) I would just like to show you how to be content and make the most with the space you have! Make the most of your space.Plus, I also love this idea because then your desk doesn’t always have to be in sight. It can be tucked away and hidden. If you have been reading my blog long enough, you can tell I have a slight obsession with Real Simple. Love it. I think if this counseling thing falls through, I may have a job at Real Simple. Can you open a Dallas branch please?
