Cost Comparison: Agave Nectar

Why Agave Nectar?

  • It’s a low glycemic sweetner, which means it is slowly absorbed into the body, preventing a spike in blood sugar. (When trying not to gain weight, you want to avoid these spikes!)

  • We use it in place of sugar and honey frequently. 3 T agave = 4 T sugar. Sweeter than sugar!

  • It’s natural, extracted from the agave plant.

  • It’s gluten free.

One 11.75 oz. bottle at Whole Foods $3.50, or 29.8 cents/oz.

Versus
