THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.
I hate going to the dry cleaners. Some people hate the dentist. I hate the dry cleaners. I cringe when I have to bring an item there because I’m afraid of how it will look when it is returned to me. This fear is not without reason. I once took a beautiful beaded black dress, passed down from my mom, to a well-known dry cleaners in Dallas after a college formal. When I went to pick it up, the beads from the thigh down were missing. They refused to pay for it, saying that the damage was part of their release… I don’t even remember. We went back and forth. It was ridiculous. But they were “nice enough” not to charge me for the dry cleaning… seriously? They wanted me to pay for them to ruin my dress? It was just terrible. Ever since then, I have rarely dry cleaned.
You can understand, then, why one of my main concerns when clothing shopping is an item’s care instructions. If a garment has to be dry cleaned, I rarely buy it. The cost to dry clean and the hassle to get my clothes there is a huge deterrent to me buying dry clean only clothing.
I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to review Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret, but I must admit that I was a bit skeptical. Still the idea of having an inexpensive, at-home solution to dry cleaning intrigued me. So I gave it a try – on my favorite cardigan!
So I followed the care instructions, dabbing my stains with their sheets.
Then I placed it in the dryer with the Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret sheet and said a little prayer.
And I breathed a sign of relief when I opened the door. There it was looking crisp and smelling fresh!
Good to go!
And to make it better, Woolite has agreed to allow one of you try this product free as well!

Most recent horror story: I took a relatively new tan blazer to the cleaners. When I came to pick it up I got somebody’s very old and worn tan blazer. Needless to say whoever got mine never returned it. so dry cleaners don’t even have to ruin your clothes to cause you problems!
i NEED AN ADDRESS TO SEND FOR $3.00 REBATE. tHE ONE PRINTED OUT I sBLURRY – UNREADABLE…………….
Hey GS, I’m not sure what rebate you are talking about. This Woolite giveaway ended awhile ago, and I wasn’t aware of a Woolite rebate. Can you be more specific?
So how do you use this. My stuff don’t have stains; would I just put the dry clothes in with the sheet? Please advise. Thanks
Hey Chantal! Basically you’ll follow the instructions on the package, but I do think it’s probably okay to skip the stain section if you don’t have anything on there, since that would not apply to you. Good luck!! I have loved being free of dry cleaner’s bills! Let me know if you need more help.
Great, thanks so much for the reply. After I give it a try I’ll be sure to come back with my thought on it. I too look forward to the money I can save from now on!!!
Also great blog, keep up the good work.
