Okay, so please clear this up for me. I went to Walgreens tonight and got some really good deals…had to get sunscreen for the hubby…he works outside every day. They wouldn’t give me money back…is that what you have found with Walgreens or did the lady just not know their policies and I need to study up before going back next time?

    • Hey Cait! So are you referring to the SC Johnson rebate? That is a mail in rebate. You save your receipt and send it with the rebate form, which I am glad to send to you if you need it!
OR are you referring to buying something and getting register rewards – Walgreens specifically? Register rewards are printed with your receipt and you can use them on a future purchase.
Does any of these clear things up? Let me know if not and I’ll clarify! Thanks for asking. I should be more specific I guess!

No, you’re fine! I’m actually referring to Register Rewards at Walgreens specifically. I used Register Rewards and had coupons…the register wouldn’t accept it up to the point where I would be paid due to the overage of the coupons on top of using the RRs. For example, my bill after a the RR and a couple coupons came to $2.12. I still had coupons that paid for more than what I owed Walgreens…but the register wouldn’t take them and the lady was confused…and I didn’t know what their policy was. Sadly, neither did she. ha! (I guess I should have bought something else and it would have cleared it up?!) I just want to be more prepared and ready to “fight back” next time. This is probably confusing…:)

    • Okay that makes sense. I know what you’re saying. So basically skip the coupons for now… if you have $2 RR and say a candle that costs $2, so $2.15 with tax, they won’t accept the RR! It’s so annoying agree. I’m not sure what the limit is you have to reach. But basically you can’t use the RR to get an item free. It’s really frustrating.
Then add coupons to the mix… here’s the only thing I can think about. Say your purchase is $10 and you have $5 RR and $5 in MC’s. Did you try having them ring up the RR’s first, so then you would have $5 left that you could use the coupons on?
I will say sometimes Walgreens employees have not understood that when you use a $1 MC on an item that costs 97 cents, they don’t understand that they can adjust the price of the coupon. That has happened to me.
So was it the first scenario or the last one that you ran into?
