Ditch the Pam!

Always looking for more ways to cut out processed stuff, be green, AND to save money! So when a friend showed me her Farberware Oil Sprayer, I was thrilled to be able to ditch my Pam!

I realize you can always grease a pan with straight olive oil, coconut oil, butter, or the like, but you use so much in the process that it has never seemed money-saving to me. With this sprayer, you can pour your own pure olive oil (no need for organic or extra virgin since it’s just being used to grease pans) into the bottle. And a little goes a long way! The reason for this is that you “pump” the bottle cap before spraying it, which means a mixture of air and oil come out of the bottle. Similar to an aerosol bottle – but without extra chemicals and additives. Plus, it’s eco-friendly.

I bought ours at Walmart for less than $10, but you can get one on Amazon (I love online shopping…) – explore your options: Olive Oil Sprayers.

What non-processed, eco-friendly, and/or money-saving kitchen ideas do you have?

  2. Pampered Chef also makes a great pump like this. Not sure of the price, but it was not expensive. It comes with an extra pump too so the life of it is longer. Just another option for those who like Pampered Chef.

  3. We got a 1 dollar spray bottle which works great to spray oil. (same type of bottle we use for baby wipe potion so we labeled it OIL with a sharpie)
