Tackling the Plastic Bags

Up until recently our plastic grocery bags took up about half of our pantry floor. Though I try to bring my own reusable bags much of the time, I still find that we accumulate these plastic ones like crazy. I like to save them when I get them though because I use them around the house as trash bags in trash cans and as dog poop bags. If we didn’t use cloth diapers, I’d use these as poop diaper bags as well. I hate that they are not eco-friendly, but at least they have many uses! Still, the mess on the floor was becoming a problem, so I set out to tackle it…

And I should have taken a before photo because I can hardly believe that I crammed every single bag into this tissue box! The tissue box makes for a great storage space to keep the bags off the floor and condensed. When stuffing the tissue box, I tied each bag in one loose knot and stuffed it in. Voila!

What simple tricks do you have for keeping your home clutter-free?
