Don’t Lose It — Label It!

At the hospital where I delivered, we get these awesome jumbo water cups to take home. This cup has become the coveted cup in my house. My husband refers to the cup as “the one I stole from him.” (Long story. But I assure you – I worked hard for that cup!) And though I fill this cup with ice water and a squeeze of lemon each day, my daughter somehow always manages to take this huge cup in her arms and carry it around the house, drinking from it. The jumbo Baylor cup is definitely my cup, but you’d never know it! For Christmas, I even bought hubby a Baylor cup from the hospital gift shop. Now we just have to keep the cups straight!

Thankfully, I was recently sent some handy all-purpose labels from Mabel’s Labels, which ended up being a perfect solution to my problem! Now I have a personalized label made just for my cup, so everyone in the house is clear on whose cup that is sitting on the kitchen counter! I’m kidding on the stinginess factor, but you have to admit – the label looks pretty cute!

I love that Mabel’s Labels offers labels that you can personalize yourself, with the help of a Sharpie. They are called “Write-Away!” labels. While cute printed ones are wonderful, I don’t always want a label to just say my name. Like on the cup for example – I really love that it says “Mom’s cup!” rather than “Ashleigh Lankford.” The latter works, but it’s not as fitting. And often times, I need a label right away, so even if I wanted a fancy one, I just don’t have time to wait. So these labels are wonderful for this purpose as well. These stickers are dishwasher and microwave safe, as well as UV resistant.

At first I wasn’t sure how these labels worked, but they are actually super easy to use. I couldn’t think of how to explain it very well, so I’ll show it in pictures.

They labels come 15 to a sheet. Aren’t the print layouts cute? They are very kid-friendly! Since I have a girl, I got a girly set of “Write-Away!” labels.

There’s a clear top layer with a sticky back that you lift up in order to write on the bottom layer.

Peel off that sticky backing.

And press the top layer down onto the bottom layer. The label is now sealed. Then peel the entire label off of the sticker sheet and apply to your desired surface.

I am loving these labels! They are definitely a new favorite!

I was also given the opportunity to try Mabel’s Labels new preschool shoe labels. These labels identify who the shoes belong to and help children to identify their right shoe from their left. The designs are halved, so half of the design is on the left shoe and half on the right. By matching up the two pieces of the design, children can see which shoe should go on which foot.

We chose the butterfly design, and I love how it’s split with one wing on each foot. It’s very clear which shoe belong on which foot. And having Lilleigh’s name on her shoes is a huge plus in a Sunday school class with many toddler girls running around with the same pair of Target sandals on! Plus personalization is just cute! Lilleigh doesn’t understand this concept yet, but I know she will soon! These kids are like sponges. Every few days, there’s some new activity she’s able to do. Soon enough! I absolutely love the idea behind this label, and I am confident that they will get a lot of use at our house!

If you’d like to check out these labels, visit Mabel’s Labels. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Their labels are available in Walmarts in Canada and hopefully (fingers crossed) coming soon to Walmarts in the U.S. Keep your eyes peeled! In the meantime, order them on their website!

I did receive the products above for free in exchange for writing this post. However, the opinions expressed above are my own.
