Today Lilleigh is 2! I can hardly believe that! I just thought I’d take a moment to share her party with you. Though I love to entertain, I’m so not a party planner – the details just bog me down. But it was still a very fun two-year-old birthday party! Small. Just good friends. And lots of fun!
We went for the theme “Super heroes and tutus, Lilleigh is turning 2!” There were lots of tutus and capes worn! What kid doesn’t love dressing up? Good times.
I made this sign using chalkboard markers.
Instead of bringing gifts, I told everyone to bring an unwrapped children’s book to put in the box when they came in. Then when they left, each child picked up a book to take home. This was also their party favor! I’m big on books around here, so I was excited when I saw a friend do this a few years ago. I’ve had it tucked away! I’m sure we will do it again in the future.
We let the kiddos bounce around in this great bounce area that we borrowed from a friend. We also blew up a package of balloons that the kids loved bouncing around. What’s not fun about a jumpy thing and balloons?!
And thankfully the weather was cooperative, so we were able to play in the backyard.
And our plethora of toys were a big hit! As many have said, we do kinda look like we are running a day care in the backyard…
Instead of cake and ice cream, we did breakfast casserole, fruit, and cinnamon rolls. (Check out that amazing recipe I linked to!) We stuck the candle in her cinnamon roll – also a big hit. (And I know I keep saying that breakfast casserole recipe is to come… I keep forgetting a photo… bleh. Soon!)
Happy birthday to my sweet Lilleigh!
